Boat Work

I have been working on my 1982 Catalina 30 sailboat trying to get it so we can use it this summer. There was an exhaust leak below deck that needed to be taken care of. I ended up replacing some and putting a patch to connect the old and the new.

This is what it looked like after unwrapping the heat wrap.

The pipe had corroded all the way through. I cut the pipe and replaced everything past the problem with new.

Then used muffler cement and a piece of stainless steel to wrap around the joint using band clamps to fasten it tight. I re-wrapped it with the Fiberglas heat wrap and called it good.
